What’s it Like to Be Screened for Epi-LASIK Surgery?

September 4, 2014

Jackie came to Liberty Vision for her initial screening for Epi-LASIK surgery, and wanted to share her thoughts about how easy the process was. Her initial screening was free, as it always is at Liberty Vision. After having a bad experience at a large laser center in Connecticut Jackie was pleased that her initial screening was done by Dr. Gold himself. She says that the initial screening was pain-free as was her pre-op visit. A Pre-op visit is done 1 to 2 weeks before surgery. The patient spends about one hour with Dr. Gold having a complete eye exam and some other tests which ensure the safety of the procedure for each patient. Jackie emphasized that nothing was painful in this process it all.

At the pre-op examination the patient is given all of their instructions to prepare for surgery day. Patients are also given instructions and prescriptions for medications and eyedrops that they will need for before and after their surgery.

"You can always feel safe and confident with Dr. Gold" says Jackie.
